Romeo Beckham makes acting debut in gay tennis romance Forty Love

–

Neutral summary

Romeo Beckham, the second-eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, makes his acting debut in the French romantic drama Forty Love, which follows two tennis rivals whose fierce sporting rivalry turns into an intense love affair. The trailer, released on Thursday, 15 October, shows the 24-year-old sharing a passionate on-screen kiss with his co-star, French actor Paul Kircher. Kircher plays Sacha Gallo, a tennis prodigy who has spent years training alongside his father to claim a major title in Paris, only for his carefully curated world to be thrown into chaos by the arrival of a magnetic new competitor, played by Beckham. The film's synopsis describes this unexpected challenge as “a force as exhilarating as it is destabilising, and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.” The movie, which also stars Catherine Deneuve and Guillaume Canet, is due in cinemas on 25 November. The Independent and the Evening Standard have compared the film to the novel “Heated Rivalry” and the movie “Challengers”.
