Полиция предупреждает, что изменение закона может привести к росту насилия и недоличного поведения. Некоторые владельцы клубов и эксперты раскритиковали идею, назвав её «недальновидной» и способной «вернуть футбол в 1980-е годы». В то же время сообщается, что тесты по разрешению алкоголя уже проводились в Женской суперлиге и оказались успешными.
