Конгрессмен Грег Касар и более 100 его коллег потребовали освободить Гарсеса Переса для получения надлежащей медицинской помощи и предотвращения депортации в Венесуэлу. Полиция Остина опубликовала новые видео инцидента, включая кадры погони с включенными проблесковыми маячками и сиреной, а также кадры с нательных камер, на которых видно, как офицеры помогают Гарсесу Пересу выйти из машины. При этом выяснилось, что стрелявший агент ICE не носил нательную камеру, а камера другого офицера зафиксировала лишь часть произошедшего. Семья выразила разочарование из-за отсутствия информации о состоянии здоровья молодого человека, заявив, что им пришлось обойти несколько медицинских учреждений в поисках сведений.
