Несмотря на жёсткую риторику, иранский лидер заявил о готовности к переговорам, а по данным G1, США и Иран возобновили контакты через посредников на полях Генассамблеи, причём Трамп назвал трёхчасовую встречу с участием Стива Уиткоффа и Джареда Кушнера «очень продуктивной». Война между США, Израилем и Ираном началась в феврале, два перемирия сорвались, и в конфликт оказались втянуты арабские государства Персидского залива, Йемен и Ливан.
