Высокий суд Дели 18 сентября постановил освободить под залог британца Джагтара Сингха Джохала, который провёл в индийской тюрьме почти девять лет без обвинительного приговора по семи делам, связанным с предполагаемой террористической деятельностью. Суд отменил предыдущие отказы в залоге и распорядился о его освобождении, однако условия выхода на свободу ещё не определены. Брат Джохала назвал это решение «огромным облегчением». В тот же день суд Дели предоставил так называемый «дефолтный залог» гражданину США Мэттью ВанДайку, арестованному вместе с шестью украинцами за незаконное пересечение границы; судья отметил, что обвинение не может лишить его права на залог, ограничившись обвинениями в нарушении иммиграционного законодательства.
