Возглавляемая Саудовской Аравией коалиция сообщила, что в среду хуситы атаковали баллистическими ракетами и беспилотниками города Хамис Мушайт, Абха и Джизан на юго-западе королевства. Это уже второй день подряд нападений на Саудовскую Аравию. В Абхе и провинции Хамис Мушайт гражданская оборона объявляла предупреждение о «потенциальной опасности», которое вскоре было снято. Йеменское правительство обвинило хуситов в гибели мирных жителей, а сами хуситы, по сообщениям, заявили об ударах саудовской авиации по их позициям. Наблюдатели связывают эскалацию с наступлением хуситов на Баб-эль-Мандебский пролив: по словам аналитиков, контроль над ним и над морскими путями в Персидском заливе дал бы повстанцам «огромный рычаг влияния», а конфликт рискует перерасти в новую гражданскую войну в Йемене.
