Цена на нефть марки Brent в среду вечером превысила $101 за баррель впервые с мая, а в четверг на максимуме поднялась выше $102 за баррель впервые за три месяца, сообщают биржевые данные. Рост цен вызван эскалацией конфликта между США и Ираном: Тегеран заявил об ударах по десяти судам вблизи Ормузского пролива, включая два американских, а также по военной базе в Иордании, в ответ на уничтожение американскими силами пяти иранских танкеров. Иордания сообщила, что её ПВО перехватила 18 из 20 запущенных Ираном ракет, остальные упали в безлюдной местности, жертв нет. Аналитики ожидают сохранения высоких цен до конца года, а Bank of America прогнозирует рост до $120 при сохранении текущей интенсивности боевых действий.
