В воскресенье, 6 сентября, в восточногерманской земле Саксония-Анхальт пройдут региональные выборы, на которых ультраправая партия «Альтернатива для Германии» (АдГ) может впервые с 1945 года получить большинство и возглавить правительство земли. Согласно последним опросам, АдГ набирает от 40% до 43% голосов, что может быть достаточно для абсолютного большинства, тогда как консервативный блок ХДС/ХСС канцлера Фридриха Мерца получает лишь около 23%. Победа АдГ рассматривается как возможный прорыв «санитарного кордона» против ультраправых в Германии и может иметь последствия для всей страны и Европы. Немецкая полиция готовится к возможным протестам и не исключает насилия в любом случае исхода голосования.
