Тропический шторм «Эдуард» во вторник, 1 сентября, вышел на сушу вблизи Джонсон-Байу в Луизиане, принеся ветры скоростью до 95 км/ч и обильные осадки в Техас и Луизиану. По данным Национального центра по ураганам США, шторм сформировался в Мексиканском заливе в понедельник и быстро усилился, перед выходом на берег приблизившись к силе урагана. В зоне шторма более 4000 потребителей остались без электричества, а главной угрозой, по словам губернатора Техаса Грега Эбботта, являются наводнения. Ожидается, что «Эдуард» принесет до 9 дюймов (около 23 см) осадков, а также возможны торнадо и штормовой нагон высотой до 8 футов (около 2,4 м).
