Le Parti vert d'Angleterre et du Pays de Galles a voté lors de sa conférence de Brighton le 4 octobre pour adopter une motion déclarant le sionisme comme une forme de racisme. La motion a été adoptée par 1 022 voix contre 813 et a été adoptée sans amendement substantiel. Le texte définit le sionisme comme un « projet politique ethnonationaliste » et stipule que l'opposition au sionisme ne doit pas être assimilée à l'antisémitisme. Il réaffirme le soutien du parti à la libération palestinienne, au droit au retour des Palestiniens, au mouvement Boycott, Désinvestissement et Sanctions (BDS) et à un embargo total sur les armes à destination d'Israël. Le chef du parti, Zack Polanski, qui est juif, n'a pas participé au vote. Le ministère israélien des Affaires étrangères a interdit à Polanski d'entrer dans le pays, qualifiant la résolution d'« antisémite ». Le grand rabbin Sir Ephraim Mirvis a condamné cette décision comme un « antisémitisme empoisonné ». Plus d'une douzaine de députés travaillistes ont signalé le parti à la police du Sussex et à la Commission pour l'égalité et les droits de l'homme. Le Parti vert européen a déclaré que la motion va à l'encontre de sa politique, et le co-leader des Verts allemands l'a qualifiée d'« intolérable et inacceptable ». L'envoyé américain pour l'antisémitisme, l'ambassadeur rabbin Yehuda Kaploun, a qualifié le parti d'« hypocrite » et a déclaré que Washington ferait des « représentations » au gouvernement britannique. Polanski a déclaré que le parti « n'acceptera aucune exclusion » de personnes en raison de leur religion.
