Les responsables iraniens ont condamné les frappes sur les pétroliers comme un « crime de guerre » et ont promis des représailles plus sévères si le « blocus » se poursuit. Le ministère iranien de la Santé a indiqué que les frappes américaines entre le 30 août et le 2 septembre ont tué au moins 18 personnes et blessé 142 autres.
