Deux Britanniques inculpés après l'incident de la RAF Fairford, l'un accusé d'aide à l'Iran

Le 27 septembre, trois fourgonnettes sont arrivées à la base, deux chargées d'essence ; un participant a signalé à la police une prétendue bombe dans un véhicule, mais aucun explosif n'a été trouvé. L'incident a déclenché une opération majeure et l'évacuation des résidents. La base avait été utilisée par des bombardiers américains pour des frappes sur l'Iran, mais ils ont été retirés pour des raisons de sécurité peu après l'arrestation de cinq Britanniques à l'extérieur. Essghir a été placé en détention provisoire jusqu'à une audience le 20 novembre. Andrew Burnham a déclaré plus tôt que l'incident avait été presque certainement orchestré par le Corps des Gardiens de la révolution iranienne. Six autres hommes ont été arrêtés et libérés sous caution.
