Quatre pilotes de l'armée de l'air philippine ont été tués lorsque deux avions d'entraînement SF-260 sont entrés en collision en vol lors d'un vol d'entraînement à la base aérienne Fernando, à Lipa City, dans la province de Batangas, au sud de Manille, vendredi après-midi. Les deux appareils se sont écrasés dans le périmètre de la base vers 15h51, sans autre victime signalée, selon le porte-parole de l'armée de l'air, le colonel Alvin Capinguian. L'armée de l'air a temporairement cloué au sol toute sa flotte de SF-260 par mesure de précaution pendant que l'enquête est en cours. Le secrétaire à la Défense, Gilberto Teodoro Jr., a déclaré que l'enquête examinerait la planification des vols, la formation des pilotes, la maintenance des appareils et le leadership de commandement. Des images vidéo circulant en ligne montrent le moment de la collision à basse altitude. NRK note qu'en mai, deux pilotes militaires ont été tués lorsqu'un autre SF-260 s'est écrasé lors d'un vol d'entraînement dans la province de Benguet, dans le nord des Philippines.
