Broncos beat Seahawks 17-14 in OT on Lutz field goal after Darnold interception

–

Neutral summary

The Denver Broncos defeated the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime in Thursday night's Week 6 NFL game. Wil Lutz drilled a 53-yard overtime field goal after a crucial Sam Darnold interception sealed the Denver Broncos' win. Kicker reports that Seattle only forced overtime late, but there Darnold's next turnover cost the reigning champions the game. Darnold was highly self-critical after the match, calling his performance “really shitty,” according to Kicker. The New York Post writes that Darnold has been a mess this season and is playing like he's with the Jets again, calling his late mistake doom for the Seahawks, though the paper notes it's October — and thus ghost season. Fox News reports that Denver survived an ugly offensive night, and former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick unloaded on Bo Nix, saying he is “not playing competitive football” and calling it disrespectful to the position. El Economista notes that Denver won thanks to its defense and now has a 4-2 record, but the team must solve its offensive problems despite having beaten one of the NFL's best defenses on Thursday night. Sky Sports also reported the Broncos' overtime victory over the Seahawks.
