iPhone Duo pre-orders open, delivery dates slip to 2027

–

Neutral summary

Apple opened pre-orders for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on Friday, October 16, and the device immediately met with overwhelming demand. Within half an hour of pre-orders opening in the US, delivery dates for all configurations slipped to January 25, 2027, according to iXBT. The same outlet reports that pre-orders on China's JD.com platform alone exceeded 2.23 million. In Brazil, according to O Globo, the Apple website was already showing delivery from January 22, 2027, just an hour after sales began. The company had originally planned to start shipments on October 23. In Brazil, the iPhone Duo costs from 21,999 reais for the 256 GB version to 30,999 reais for the 2 TB model, according to O Globo, G1 and Exame. The device features a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal one, and is equipped with the A20 Pro chip and a titanium frame, notes Olhar Digital. 9to5mac, cited by RBC, links the delayed delivery dates to high demand. Valor Economico reports that the strong start of pre-orders reinforced demand expectations and reassured Apple investors. TASS, citing Bloomberg, also confirms the shipment delay to 2027.
