Apple unveils first touchscreen MacBook Pro

–

Neutral summary

At an event in Los Angeles on October 28, Apple CEO John Ternus presented the company's first touchscreen MacBooks, abandoning a long-held aversion to the technology. The new MacBook Pro models feature a PROLED XDR display based on tandem OLED technology, Dynamic Island support, and M5 Pro/Max chips. They are available in 14- and 16-inch versions, with sales starting November 6. US prices start at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model, while a fully configured version can reach $14,549. In Japan, pricing starts at 49,980 yen, and in France at over 3,000 euros. Previously, Steve Jobs and Tim Cook criticized the idea of merging a laptop with a tablet, calling it a 'terrible idea.' Some reviewers note that the price of the new MacBook Pro raises questions, as a Mac Mini and MacBook Air could be purchased for less. It is also reported that the 16-inch model remains on the M5 chip, while the 14-inch version gets the M6.
