Real Madrid lose appeal: Vinicius Junior to miss Clasico against Barcelona

–

Neutral summary

The Appeals Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) rejected Real Madrid's appeal on Friday, October 16, and confirmed the four-match suspension imposed on Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian forward was punished after his red card in the match against Villarreal. As a result, Vinicius will miss the Clasico against Barcelona, scheduled for October 25 in the Spanish league, as well as matches against Sevilla, Racing Santander and Valencia. According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid presented arguments contesting both parts of the sanction, but the committee dismissed them. La Vanguardia reports that the Madrid club will now turn to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) in an attempt to have the punishment reduced. Vinicius is expected to return to action in the match against Celta Vigo in late November, after the international break. Separately, Metropoles reported that the player hosted a party at his home the previous night, attended by Premier League players and models.
