Iran's supreme leader orders military to respond to any aggression without limits
–
Neutral summary
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered the country's armed forces to respond immediately and without geographical restrictions to any new aggression by the United States or Israel. The directive was issued during a meeting with senior military commanders, and his office described the orders as “important and strategic,” saying details would be published shortly. Khamenei also instructed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to update its target list so that “all tangible and intangible assets of the US and Israel” would be within reach of the armed forces. Iran's judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei called for swift legal proceedings against those accused of collaborating with the country's enemies. In the United States, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump has not made a decision on resuming military operations against Iran, adding that Washington prefers a diplomatic solution. Reports suggest the US could launch a short, intense military campaign after the midterm elections scheduled for November 3. Trump has reportedly threatened to strike “one or two sites,” including Mount Kolang near the Natanz nuclear complex, saying “we can do that in ten minutes.” Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied reports of planned talks with US officials.
