Trump praises Nicki Minaj's figure at Michigan rally
–
Neutral summary
US President Donald Trump publicly commented on rapper Nicki Minaj's appearance at a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on October 25, where she came to support Republican candidates in the midterm elections. "I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before – Nicki Minaj," Trump said, adding that "that's hard to miss." He then invited the singer on stage, where she pledged to support him "forever and ever" and urged young Americans to vote Republican. Minaj, who cannot vote in the US herself, flew to Michigan aboard Air Force One wearing a Gucci suit reportedly worth about $6,000. She had received compliments from Trump about her appearance twice earlier this year. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung jokingly suggested Minaj could become the next White House press secretary. At the rally, Trump also renewed his attacks on Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. The Independent and Sydney Morning Herald note that Trump's remarks about Minaj's body are part of a series of increasingly explicit comments he has made about people's appearance ahead of the elections.
